Getting Started

Today I'm going to talk about starting your transformation, and where you need to be in order to set yourself up for success. Starting a transformation with the right set-up is very important, if you get it wrong then the rest of the process is going to potentially be less productive.

When we talk about "set-up" or the starting point there's 4 major areas -

  • Diet
  • Training
  • Cardio
  • Supplements 


Don't make the classic mistake of wanting results too fast and as a result eating too little from the beginning. When you hit a plateau you will have no direction to move your diet into. Start with as much food as you can handle whilst making progress.


Don't be tempted to start lifting every day. Your CNS will become over fatigued and I believe the quality of your training will suffer too. Your joints will also suffer. I believe most people don't need more than 4-5 good lifting sessions a week.


Don't start with too much! Maybe 20 minutes 3 X a week is enough to begin, gradually increase that, then add another day as needed. Starting with too much will again mean you have very little to add to accelerate progress when you need to.


Things like fat burners can be great, but only when NEEDED. You don't "need" them in all likelihood from the first day. But they might be worth it for the last 3-4 weeks.


The lesson here is to keep something left, for when you hit that wall.
